Competition Trailers was started in 1989 in Henderson, Texas by Sam Harris. Sam had built trailers for about 30 years until his tragic death in an automobile accident in July of 2006. As a former drag racer, Sam built an enclosed trailer for himself. His colleagues wanted trailers so he eventually started Chaparral Trailers in Irving, Texas. He sold that business in 1979 and built custom trailers for other applications. In 1985, he began building racing trailers again, which evolved into today’s business of building for many uses.

Our present owners, Ken Evans and Jimmy Barton, have both been in the trailer business for 20 years and welcome your calls for information. To help you with designing for your personal application, our engineering and sales staff have years of experience and can assist you as needed.
